The 2015 Chablis 1Er Cru Fourchaume was tight and rather conservative on the nose but gradually opened with light white citrus and honeysuckle scents and later, a hint of lemon curd and apricot. There is something quite "Vaillons" about these flattering aromatics. The palate is taut and linear with just a touch of tangerine and nectarine. I appreciate the harmony of this Fourchaume and the manner in which it gently fans out on the finish. This is simply a delicious 2015 Fourchaume and one to be savored since there is not a 2016 vintage due to hail. - Neal Martin

The 2015 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru feels oakier on the nose than its peers, although it is simpatico with the fruit: dried mango, white peach and a touch of green apple. It is a commercially savvy, consumer-friendly bouquet. The palate is well balanced with good depth, rounded in texture and (again) comparatively oaky. Yet it maintains admirable tension and the finish is well proportioned; leaving a light grassy note on the aftertaste. -- Neal Martin
