The 2015 Château de la Dauphine was picked at 45hl/ha from 15 September to 2 October, matured in 25% new oak for 12 months (less than previous vintages.) It shows a little more refinement and terroir expression than the previous vintage with delineated blackberry, raspberry, liquorice and wild flower scents, very pure and utterly charming. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins. This is very harmonious, silky smooth and ratchets quality up a level from previous vintages, with a wonderful black pepper finish that leaves the tongue tingling. This is drinking extremely well, but it will continue to give pleasure for 20 years.
