Pure bottled decadence, this is a show stopper in every sense of the word. Full bodied, with a depth of flavor that doe not quit, the wine is opulent, sexy and rich. The tannins feel like crushed velvet, the fruit is dense and fresh, the finish lingers, allowing you to enjoy the fruit and marvel at the texture. Give it at least a decade of age as the oak needs to further dissipate. This is a stunning wine. Not much is made, I think the production was less than 400 cases. Very attractive and vibrant purple berries, dark cherries, blueberries, fresh earth and violets on the nose. This is a pretty wine with real purpose. The palate delivers a sleeve of perfectly ripe dark-plum and blueberry flavors and makes a deep-set impression via succulent, lustrous tannins that roll smooth and deep. Fresh, earthy finish. I loved the 2015 La Violette from barrel and it didn’t disappoint from bottle. Sporting a deep purple color as well as sensational notes of violets, black currants, toasty oak, and graphite, this awesome 2015 hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a seamless, sexy texture, no hard edges and fine, fine tannin. It’s the purity of fruit that really sets this gem apart and despite carrying serious amounts of richness and depth, it glides across the palate and is almost weightless. Give this heavenly little Garage wine 4-5 years of cellaring, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following two decades.

La Violette's signature heady, floral nose hits you up front, while the oak takes a slightly medicinal note through the mid-palate, accompanied by cloves, marzipan and cinnamon spice. This is a lovely wine, modern in style, needing time to evolve. We can expect the grace of La Violette to reveal itself within the next eight to ten years in bottle.
