It is a great vintage for Latour à Pomerol. Smells of pristine lightly spiced blueberries and plums and leads to intense flavors of red plums and red cherries cloaked in perfectly integrated spicy oak. Long, regal tannins that are seamless. This is clearly the best Latour à Pomerol for over 30 years. Try from 2023.

Super-ripe red cherry, mint, crushed herbs, licorice and tobacco are all woven together in a fabric of pure and total class as this powerful, explosive Pomerol shows off its arresting beauty. As gorgeous as the 2015 is today, it also is going to need at least a number of years in bottle to be at its very best. The fusion of power and sensuality makes for a compelling Pomerol that is going to drink well for several decades. The 2015 has much to say, all it needs is time.

One of the blockbusters in the Moueix portfolio is the 2015 Latour A Pomerol. A blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc offers full-bodied richness and a ripe, opulent personality that’s already hard to resist. With classic notes of black cherries, bouquet garni, bay leaf and spicy oak, it has gorgeous purity of fruit, sweet tannin, and is a classic Pomerol in the making. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers tons of savory layers with a firm, chewy structure and a lively line cutting through the tightly wound flavors, finishing long and earthy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Latour a Pomerol

Chateau Latour a Pomerol is one of the leading Bordeaux wine producers from the Pomerol appellation. Since 1962, Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix has farmed the property, bringing their usual care and expertise to both vineyard and cellar.

The vineyard, with an average age of 35 years, is characterized by its soil diversity. There is loamy soil around the chateau itself with more gravel and clay in the best blocks near the church within the village of Pomerol. The estate has 8 hectares planted, predominantly Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc.

Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix, who own many other properties in both Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, including Magdelaine, Belair-Monange, La Fleur-Petrus, Lafleur-Gazin, Lagrange, Trotanoy, and Hosanna.
