Made from mostly Grenache, the 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape A La Gloire de Mon Grand-Père is another beauty that's up with the crème de las crème of the vintage. Kirsch, strawberries, dried flowers and spice notes give way to a full-bodied, supple, sexy red that has sweet tannin and a great finish. While it's a big, rich wine, it glides across the palate and is never heavy. It should keep for 10-15 years.

Bosquet des Papes was successful across the board in 2015, as all of the four wines stood out in my blind tastings. My favorite (by a nose) was the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape A la Gloire de Mon Grandpere, which is 98% Grenache. On top of its lovely floral and cherry aromas, the mid-palate boasts incredible lushness and suppleness, then adds in complex spice elements. It's long, silky and only the slightest bit warm on the finish. It should make it to 2030, but there's no real need to wait. - Joe Czerwinski

Lush and silky in feel, with creamed plum, raspberry and boysenberry fruit flavors gliding atop a very refined structure. Light anise, rooibos tea, bergamot and mulled blood orange notes deliver waves of nuance through the finish. Seductive. Best from 2019 through 2035. — J.M.
