(90-92) The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Garenne, under the "Domaine Due de Magenta" label, has an expressive bouquet with good fruit concentration: dried honey, orange zest and a touch of pralines developing in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with a keen thread of acidity, nicely balanced with a harmonious and focused finish. This is worth looking out for, once in bottle.

Ripe white peach and lemon aromas are complicated by nuances of stone, menthol and white flowers. Nicely ripe and intense if not especially nuanced, offering lively flavors of white peach, lemon and flowers. Supple but firmly built, with a hint of malic acidity giving shape to the finish. Most of this juice normally goes into the village bottling, but the team especially liked the quality of the Garenne in 2015.

(87-90) A discreet nose of pear, floral and citrus aromas complements nicely the rich and fleshy yet once again reasonably precise medium-bodied flavors that possess fine underlying material though the bitter lemon-inflected finish lacks a bit of energy though I underscore that it's by no means heavy. I don't know whether this was just tired, perhaps from a recent racking but it was less vibrant than the best here.
