One of Mastrojanni's two crus, Vigna Loreto is only produced when it doesn't compromise the quality of the regular Brunello. In 2015, it is neither better nor worse than the latter, just denser, darker and more brooding. It slowly reveals dusty earth, sun dried balsamic herbs and vanilla. It's quite expansive, with chocolatey tannins and zesty acidity which brings some tension. Ageing is in 16- to 33-hectolitre barrels made of Allier French oak.
