Rich, sumptuous and racy, the 2015 captures the essence of this corner of St. Helena. Silky tannins and super-concentrated fruit are front and center in this racy, wonderfully intense Cabernet Sauvignon. Time in the glass only brings out the wine's luxurious fruit and unctuous texture even further. Simply put, the 2015 has it all. -- Antonio Galloni

This is a very special wine that shows the real St. Helena character with crushed stones, cement and blackberry character. Full body and very fine tannins. A beautiful finish. Better in 2020 but all ready gorgeous.

Coming from a site next to Spottswoode and almost all Cabernet Sauvignon (there’s a small amount of Malbec and Petit Verdot), the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon A. Price Vineyard shows the opulent side to the vintage with its power packed blue fruits, black cherry, toasted bread, and floral notes. With terrific intensity, a full-bodied texture, and finely grained, sweet tannin, this beauty can be drunk anytime over the coming 15 years.

Patria

Patria is a personal wine label created in 2013 by famed winemaker Tony Biagi with his longtime friend Kimberly Jones. Biagi, a sixth-generation Californian, has been the winemaking talent behind famous Napa and Sonoma names such as Duckhorn, Paraduxx, Neal Family Vineyards, PlumpJack, CADE, Hourglass, and Amici. Biagi also has also consulted for Clos Du Val, Jada, Lasseter, and My Favorite Neighbor.

Biagi always looks for great vineyards to work with in every winery project he's been involved with because he says it makes it easier to craft great wine. Biagi comes from a winemaking family with his father and stepfather both making wines in the 1970s. He took a winemaking class with Anne Noble at UC Davis and found his way into the wine industry with an internship at Hess.

Biagi uses grapes sourced from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard for Patria wines. The vineyard is located on the eastern edge of the Oakville District on a large hillside estate and is approximately 1,300 feet above sea level with red volcanic soils.
