(91-93)Notes of wonderfully fresh aromas offers up notes of green fruit, lemon rind and a subtle matchstick character. There is first-rate intensity to the even more intensely mineral-driven flavors that arguably possess the best precision in the range before concluding in an even more saline finish. Though it wouldn't be a crime to enjoy this young, this is probably going to require at least a few years of cellaring first.

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne 1er Cru sports a slightly heavy-handed reduction on the nose that initially obscures the fruit and terroir; this does alleviate a little with aeration, though not enough... The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet La Grande Montagne 1er Cru sports a slightly heavy-handed reduction on the nose that initially obscures the fruit and terroir; this does alleviate a little with aeration, though not enough for my liking. The fresh, virile palate is well balanced with pointed acidity and a fine saline finish that beckons you back for another sip. Once bottle maturation addresses the aromatics, I suspect this will mature into a very attractive Chassagne-Montrachet. -- Neal Martin
