Wine Enthusiast, April 2016
(WE92-94 points) This is a juicy, fruity wine that's supported by dark fruit tannins. The black currant fruits are bright and crisp, while the structure is firm and the finish lignering.

Currants and blueberries with hints of flowers and perfume. Stones, too. Full body, a dense center palate, layers of ripe tannins and citrus rind. Layered and structured. Plush. (JL90-92 points) The new kid on the block in Pauillac has produced a ripe, elegant, sweet, polished charmer with plenty of cassis and dusty tannins in the finish.

The 2015 Pedesclaux is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in barrel, 60% new and 40% one year old. Medium garnet-purple in color, it has an earthy nose with dried herbs and garrigue notes over a core of red currants and black berries plus a touch of cedar chest. The medium-bodied palate is fine and fresh with juicy red and black fruits and a chewy finish. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

From an estate on the upswing, the 2015 Château Pédesclaux is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominated effort that includes a big chunk of Merlot (42%) and a small amount of Petit Verdot. It offers a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced and silky personality as well as top-notch notes of blackberries, dried flowers, and cedary spice. With fine, polished tannin, no hard edges, and impressive purity of fruit, drink it anytime over the coming two decades.
