Wine Enthusiast, December 2022

Still young, this is a fine Champagne. Its crisp texture and fresh citrus and white fruits are still full of vivacity. The wine is textured, hinting at minerality and should be aged further. Drink from 2024. ROGER VOSS

Decanter, February 2021

‘Full, generous and voluptuous’ is how 5th generation family member Hubert de Billy describes the 2015 vintage of Pol Roger. Having decided against declaring 2014, the house was far from anxious about the flamboyant 2015...

The 2015 Brut Vintage is a very pretty Champagne to drink now and over the next decade or so. Gentle hints of apricot, spice, dried flowers and baked apple tart lend quite a bit of nuance. There’s gorgeous vinous...

Pol Roger is one of the oldest and most-distinguished luxury Champagne firms. Based in the heart of Epernay, it was established in 1849 and remains one of the few family-owned, grande-marquee Champagne houses. Five generations have remained loyal to the firm’s essential values of excellence and independence, ensuring that each wine is treated as an impeccable ambassador to their 160 years of history.

Pol Roger has carved out one of the most flattering reputations in the select circle of the leading Champagne brands. A personal favorite of Sir Winston Churchill (who has the firm’s top cuvee named after him), Pol Roger champagne has also been the British Royal Family’s choice over the years.

The house grows more than half its grapes on 89 estate hectares and sources the rest from select growers. Their cellars extend below the Avenue de Champagne for over seven kilometers on two levels. The deeper cellar maintains a lower temperature for the wine to develop finer bubbles.

The Pol Roger portfolio includes a vintage brut, a non-vintage brut, a brut nature, a demi sec, a vintage rose, a blanc de blancs and the Sir Winston Churchill prestige cuvee.

The Brut Vintage from Champagne Pol Roger is made from their traditional house vintage blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, coming from 20 Grands and Premiers cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and the Cote des Blancs. Produced only in limited quantities, the Brut Vintage is aged for 8 years in the cellars before being disgorged and released onto the market.

Introducing the exquisite 2015 Pol Roger Vintage Brut, a Champagne blend that represents the epitome of elegance and sophistication. Hailing from the esteemed Champagne region of France, this white wine exemplifies the mastery of Pol Roger, a renowned producer with a long-standing tradition of excellence.

In the glass, the 2015 Pol Roger Vintage Brut showcases a pale golden hue, shimmering with a silver aureole that captures the light. Delicate and refined bubbles dance gracefully, providing a visually captivating experience. The nose is immediately enveloped in a bouquet of golden orchard fruit, nectarine, and warm bread, intermingled with enticing aromas of buttered popcorn and orange oil. This captivating aroma profile sets the stage for the sensory journey ahead.

On the palate, the 2015 Pol Roger Vintage Brut reveals its full-bodied and vinous nature, demonstrating its rich and fleshy character. The wine unfolds with a sweet and layered core of fruit, perfectly balanced by vibrant acidity that adds a refreshing liveliness. The pretty pinpoint mousse enhances the overall elegance, creating a truly harmonious experience.

The 2015 vintage of Pol Roger Vintage Brut is often compared to the richness and concentration of the exceptional 2012 vintage, rather than the chiseled raciness of 2013. This comparison speaks volumes about the quality and potential of this wine. It is a beautiful bottle in the making, promising a remarkable evolution with age.

Renowned wine critics have also bestowed high praise upon the 2015 Pol Roger Vintage Brut. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it a remarkable score of 94 points, describing it as generous and demonstrative. Decanter also awarded it 94 points, highlighting its finesse, complexity, and signature Pol pedigree. Wine Spectator awarded it 93 points, praising its gracefulness and mouthwatering qualities.

Overall, the 2015 Pol Roger Vintage Brut is a Champagne of exceptional quality, showcasing the artistry and expertise of Pol Roger. With its captivating aromas, rich texture, and impressive reviews, this wine is a true gem that deserves a place in any wine enthusiast's collection. Whether enjoyed now or aged further, this wine promises a remarkable experience that will leave a lasting impression.
