jamessuckling.com, April 2022

This is a powerful and dense sparkling wine that is first and foremost a classic-quality wine. And then you think about the bubbles. Full-bodied with lots of brioche, pie crust and bread dough. Great finish. Five years on...

Decanter, March 2023

Impressively round and full with tremendous elegance and poise. Enticing baked brioche notes are layered with roasted almonds on the nose. At the same time, the palate is rich, energetic and laden with notes of yellow...

Wine Enthusiast, March 2022

This grand, special-occasion wine is wonderfully complex and layered, but also powerful in the way its toasted walnut, Bosc pear and fresh bread flavors start out strong in the aroma and keep pumping on the palate and...

Wine Spectator, April 2022

Classically styled and expressively vibrant, this bubbly opens to flavors of baked apple, roasted hazelnut, clove, nutmeg and other spices. The finish fans out, building a lingering richness. Drink now through 2023. —T.F.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, July 2022

The 2015 L'Ermitage Brut is scented of baked apples, pastry and iodine. The palate offers ripe fruit and savory autolytic character, with softened acidity, creamy mousse and a citrusy finish. - Erin Brooks

Founded in 1982, Roederer Estate winery is nestled in Mendocino County's cool, fog-shrouded Anderson Valley. As the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate winery builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking.

Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only estate-grown grapes from the winery's own vineyards. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, special oak-aged reserve wines are added to each blend. The multi-vintage Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut debuted in 1988 to great acclaim, followed by the Roederer Brut Rose and Roederer Estate's tete de cuvee, L'Ermitage.

L'Ermitage, Roederer Estate's special Tete de Cuvee, is a sparkling wine made only in exceptional years from pre-selected, estate-grown grapes. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, Roederer Estate produces its sparkling wines in the traditional French method and adds special oak-aged reserve wines to each blend. L'Ermitage debuted with the 1989 vintage.
