Along with a few of the GGs from Klaus-Peter Keller, the Schäfer-Fröhlich Felseneck is probably the greatest dry Riesling produced in 2015. This young wine is the stuff that legends are made from, as it soars from the glass in a blaze of grapefruit, tangerine, kaleidoscopic slate minerality, a touch of lavender, wild yeasts, citrus peel, dried flowers and plenty of upper register smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and laser-like in focus, with a rock solid core, great cut and grip and a very long, seamless, nascently complex and electric finish. Sheer brilliance. (Drink between 2024-2065)
