But this Brunello isn’t short on power either; red licorice, cardamom and dried hibiscus pepper the nose. To support the ripe fruit are layers of sinewy tannins and gliding acidity, making for an altogether sophisticated and edgy impression. Refined and elegant on the long finish. Drink from 2023.

The wine seems to build intensity and bandwidth within a relatively short time after being poured from the bottle. Ultimately, it offers an open and generous style that drinks well straight out of the gate, if you simply don't want to wait. - Monica Larner

It floods the palate with silky textures, coasting on brisk acids, as floral-laced cherry-berry flavors soothe over a coating of saturating minerals and spice, with pretty inner florals on the close. The finish is medium in length, maintaining the wine’s juicy, fresh persona, with a flourish of cherry and sweet florals. The 2015 Talenti is ready to go and sure to please, with an amazing bouquet and zesty performance on the palate. It may not be a wine for the ages, but it sure is beautiful today. -- Eric Guido

Talenti Brunello di Montalcino is the red wine which constitutes the “heart” of the Talenti winery. Since 1981, it’s been produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in the winery’s best vineyard blocks.

After careful vinification, the wine matures in oak barrels (26 and 18 hl) with a small percentage aging in 500 liter tonneaus for two and a half years. 12 months aging in the bottle follow before release.

Winery

Talenti

The Talenti Winery is situated in the south of Montalcino, not far from the small medieval borough of S. Angelo in Colle. The winery was established in 1980 by Pierluigi Talenti who had fallen in love with the fascinating property and grounds, and decided to leave the mountains of his native Romagna for the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino.

The winery now owns a total of 40 hectares, about 21 of which are vineyards. Sixteen of the hectares are Sangiovese. The remaining five hectares hold a mix of varieties such as Colorino, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet. The vines grow in a rocky soil of medium density at an altitude of about 650 to 400 feet.

Since 1999, the winery has been managed by Pierluigi’s grandson Riccardo Talenti who continues his family’s work with the same dedication and passion of the past years. Experience and thorough research of new technologies combined with a healthy respect for tradition allowed the winery to reach the high levels of quality it enjoys today.
