Remarkably fine and salty on the palate, this is a highly elegant, complex and persistent Riesling with firm yet fine tannins and great concentration that doesn't give any sweet sensations. It's simply pure and fresh—actually challenging—kind of like a liquid Holy Grail Riesling for purists. The finish is concentrated and very, very long and stimulating. Tasted February 2018. - Stephan Reinhardt collapse

Yellow tomato, celery stalk, lemon and grapefruit make for a pungent, tangy and saline impression on the nose. And the palate, while subtly silken and lees-inflected, features the bright acidity characteristic of this vintage, to an extent that seems almost youthful. The formidably forceful finish invigorates and refreshes while leaving one with the feeling that stony, alkaline and mouthwateringly saline residues need to be scraped off of the gums and teeth! This should prove exciting to revisit. -- David Schildknecht collapse
