jamessuckling.com, November 2020

Lots of plum and dark-berry character with citrus, cedar and sandalwood. Very pure sangiovese. Full-bodied with firm, racy tannins and cool, vivid fruit at the finish. Some mineral, tar and steel undertones. Needs time to...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, December 2020

The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino offers clean and pristine fruit and otherwise delivers a textbook interpretation of the vintage. Given the large extension of vineyards farmed by this estate, which is located on the...

Wine Enthusiast, May 2021

Camphor, rose and new leather aromas form the nose along with a whiff of baking spice on this vibrant red. Polished and taut, the savory palate offers spiced cranberry, red cherry and star anise before finishing on a...

Wine Spectator, June 2021

A rich, earthy style that offers plum, cherry, iron and cigar box flavors, with plenty of power. Broad in profile, ends with savory elements of forest floor and wild herbs. Best from 2023 through 2040. – BS

Castello Banfi, a family-owned wine estate in the Tuscany region, was founded in 1978 by Italian-American brothers, John and Harry Mariani.

The Banfi territory encompasses 7,100 acres of land in Montalcino, of which about one third is planted with Sangiovese, Moscadello and other notable varieties on extremely rich and uniform soils of clay and calcium.

Banfi Piedmont was founded with the acquisition of the historic Bruzzone winery. The holdings there extend between the towns of Novi Ligure and Acqui over an area of 124 acres of which 114 are under vine.

The Banfi vineyards in Bolgheri, located south of Castagneto Carducci, give life to the prized Aska, bringing together intensity, roundness and structure.

Banfi also manages 100 acres of specialized vineyard in Chianti which bequeaths wines that bring together structure, elegance, and typical Tuscan personality.
