94+ The 2016 Bressandes from Chandon de Briailles was raised in twenty percent new oak in this vintage and, like all of the Maréchaudes, included eighty percent whole clusters in 2016. The wine is a stunning bottle, delivering a pure and classic constellation of red and black cherries, pigeon, coffee, complex, stony soil tones, lovely spice elements and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and complex, with a sappy core, great transparency, fine-grained tannins and a long, poised and beautifully focused finish. A great Corton!
