Made at the Grand Village estate but mostly from Fronsac, the deep ruby/purple-colored 2016 Acte 8 offers terrific finesse and elegance in its mulberry and black raspberry fruits. Showing more camphor, graphite, and earthy, dried flower notes with time in the glass, it has thrilling purity and balance, fine tannins, and a great finish. A class act, it’s easily one of the finest wines of the vintage from Fronsac. A blend of 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Franc from clay and limestone soils, it’s going to drink beautifully for 10-15 years.

Vinified at Château Grand Village, although the vineyard is separate, Acte 8 was created in 2009. It's sourced from clay-limestone soils, chosen after numerous soil studies. The result here is dense, textural and intensely fruited. It's austere right now, needing time, but has great balance and well drawn out flavours. An unusual AOC Bordeaux with a backstory that may convince you to tuck this away for a few years. (Drink between 2022-2032)
