Decadent and attractive with blueberry and blackberry aromas that are abundant and clear. Full body, firm and chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Very structured and poised. Try from 2023.

Full-bodied, rich and packed with generous plum and blackberry preserves layers, it has a solid, velvety frame and fantastic length. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Chateau Maillet, guided by the hand of Hubert de Bouard (Chateau Angelus), is and up-and-coming producer that is leading a modern charge and keeping things interesting in the small, classic region of Pomerol. The 2016 Maillet is expressive yet delicate with a nose full of blackberries, flowers, and spices. “This is an especially perfumed, gracious wine,” says Galloni. Production is still quite small, but the quality is clearly top notch, so we recommend jumping in on the ground floor!
