Bright, saturated medium ruby. Very ripe, slightly porty aromas of kirsch, cassis, black plum, mocha and spices, plus suggestions of herbs and menthol. Plush, sweet and tactile; reveals plenty of Red Mountain ripeness and power but in a take-no-prisoners style. The wine's briary black and purple berry flavors are complicated by bitter chocolate, licorice and sassafras elements. Boasts much more stuffing than the Mimi Cabernet and finishes with chewy, ripe, building tannins and noteworthy persistence. Still, there's something a bit unrefined about this Cabernet.
