Tasted on two separate occasions, the 2016 Château Clos du Clocher is unquestionably an outstanding Pomerol that shows the quality of this great vintage. Spiced red and black currants, dried flowers, loamy soil, and hints of chocolate all define this medium-bodied, pretty, balanced, elegant 2016 that builds incrementally on the palate, showing terrific mid-palate depth and sweet tannins. Give it a few years and it will keep for two decades.
