(WA 91-93 points) The 2016 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru les Pucelles has a more flamboyant bouquet compared to the Champs Gain and Les Clavoillons, just a slight reduction here but there are plenty of citrus fruits laced with orange pith and wet slate that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a Chablis-like, slate-tinged opening. There is an intriguing sense of reserve to this Pucelles and yet the finish is undeniably sustained, a subtle spicy edge lingering for 30 seconds after the wine has departed. This Pucelles has something up its sleeve for those prepared to cellar it for four to six years. - Neal Martin
