What at first seems like reduction on the nose is more the stems showing, with red cherry and fresh raspberry beneath. This is very fine with a superb concentration of fine fresh raspberry fruit stretching out across the palate with a little white pepper. Harmonious and exceptionally persistent. Tasted: September 2019.

The palate is medium-bodied with abundant red berry fruit, almost pastille-like in purity, quite sensual although just missing that knockout, killer blow on the linear finish. This Bonnes-Mares prefers to play it safe. I would like to see that killer instinct that elevated the 2015 to a higher level.- NM

The palate is medium-bodied with a spicy opening, slightly coarse tannins with a bit of attenuation towards the finish. Fine, if not as profound as I would have liked. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. -- Neal Martin
