(89-92) A more deeply pitched and just as fresh floral-inflected nose is composed by aromas of plum, spice, humus and a whiff of the sauvage. There is both good richness but also good detail to the vibrant and more concentrated flavors that deliver outstanding length on the balanced and mineral-suffused finish. This is excellent and highly recommended.

(90-92) The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles, 60% whole bunch fruit this year, has a strict and conservative bouquet, but one that is well defined with fine mineralité. The palate is vivacious on the entry with crisp acidity, slightly chalky tannins, bright and focused with an almost clinical, fresh and tensile finish. You can feel the mouth tingling after the wine has departed. Very fine. -Neal Martin
