(93-95 points) Just one barrel, new. Dense tight, rich blackcurrant, in fact not too oaky unlike many Chambolles this year, fiercely linear, very persistent. Though ripe, this avoids descending into chocolate notes, and delivers impeccable purity.

(WA 90-92 points) The 2016 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Aux Beaux Bruns was reduced to one barrel (new) due to frost and included 50% whole bunch. It has a fresh and vibrant bouquet, very well defined and pure with black cherrie and bilberry fruit, focused and harmonious. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and focused, lithe in the mouth with a silky smooth finish. This is a fine, probably early drinking Chambolle-Musigny vis-a-vis Arnaud's other wines that will require bottle age. - Neal Martin
