These 80 year old vines in Pommard have performed well in 2016. Aromas of ripe red fruits, game bird and rose petal precede a full-bodied, fine-grained wine with a serious chassis of rich tannins and an ample core of bright, sweet fruit. This was vinified with 30% whole cluster fruit, and Loïc Dugat-Py observes that this cuvée is always less fruity than the Gevrey appellations during vinification, and that the climat ripens rapidly, attaining 13-13.5% natural alcohol with ease.
