It has a rich ruby purple. Colour. It is impressively tightly knit, with almost an inky concentration, yet undeniable freshness, beautifully lively. Singing wine, with deep red and some black fruit.

The Mugneret sisters’ Vosne village wine is the standard by which all others are measured, and in 2016 it does not disappoint, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of dark berries, cherry, raspberry, sweet spices...   The Mugneret sisters’ Vosne village wine is the standard by which all others are measured, and in 2016 it does not disappoint, wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of dark berries, cherry, raspberry, sweet spices and a deft framing of creamy new oak. On the palate the wine reveals superb concentration, a fine-grained chassis of tannins, and a deep, pure and vibrant core of fruit. There is 20% less of this cuvée than usual, but it will be worth every effort to track down. (Drink between 2026-2046)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, January 2019
The superb 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village unfurls in the glass with a lovely bouquet of raspberries, cherries, dark chocolate, grilled game and spicy new wood. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated...   The superb 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village unfurls in the glass with a lovely bouquet of raspberries, cherries, dark chocolate, grilled game and spicy new wood. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a tight-knit core, fine-grained but firm structuring tannins and juicy balancing acids. This has closed down since the days of its comparatively expressive showing from barrel, and it's now clear that this is a vintage that will demand some time. - WK
