(88-90) A brooding and exceptionally ripe nose displays liqueur-like aromas of various dark berries, pepper, earth and soft spice nuances. The palate impression of the broad-shouldered flavors is lavishly rich, indeed to the point of opulence, with incredible concentration that really comes up on the slightly warm finish. I found this to be almost too much of a good thing because while it is certainly impressive, it's a bit top heavy and lacks the same balance as its stablemates.
