A moderately reduced nose would benefit from a thorough aeration if you're going to crack a bottle in its youth. Otherwise there is lovely freshness to the tautly muscular medium-bodied flavors that possess evident minerality on the succulent yet nicely delineated finish that delivers lovely complexity and sneaky good length. Good stuff that will age if that's your preference.

(89-92) (30% lost to frost): Pale, bright yellow. Restrained, musky scents of pear, lemon and stone; the most minerally of these 2016s. The densest and chewiest wine to this point, showing very good intensity and depth to its yellow peach, pear and salty mineral flavors. This is at an altogether higher level than the foregoing wines, finishing firm and long, with floral and mineral lift. This fruit was picked at a moderate 12% potential alcohol. -- Stephen Tanzer
