View From The Cellar, November 2017

The Maltroie delivers a fine nose of apple, orange, almond, wet stone minerality, citrus zest and a lovely topnote of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with racy acids, a fine core and impressive length and grip on the soil-driven and very pure finish. Lovely juice.

The 2016 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie exhibited a pleasant reduction on the nose, behind which lies pleasing waxy, linseed aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is pretty with a lively entry, hints of peach skin and nectarine, well balanced with good volume on the finish. Drink over the next four or five years. Six barrels produced compared to 19 in 2017!- NM

Burghound, June 2018
Pungent aromas reflect notes of zest, floral pear and plenty of petrol character. The very rich and relatively full-bodied flavors are clearly quite ripe yet there is solid supporting acidity shaping the lingering finish...   Pungent aromas reflect notes of zest, floral pear and plenty of petrol character. This is not particularly refined but it doesn't lack for character or complexity.
