(90-93 points) (just one barrel made, vs. a normal three): Bright, palish red. Musky, soil-inflected scents of raspberry, rose petal and crushed-stone minerality. Not a sweet style, but the sappy red berry and savory mineral flavors boast excellent intensity. The tannins are firm but not dry, with the finish showing excellent floral lift. A bit ungiving in the early going but this wine should reward aging. -- Stephen Tanzer
