I can't say the 2016 is especially subtle, but it packs tremendous punch. Super-ripe plum, pomegranate, blood orange, mint and espresso are framed by a good bit new oak. Readers should expect a full-throttle, extravagantly ripe Saint-Émilion. The 2016 has so much to offer. -- Antonio Galloni

Stéphane Derenoncourt created this wine with the late owner, Michel Bortolussi, and his team consult. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with beautiful Black Forest cake and blueberry pie scents with wafts of mocha, black soil, cigar box and Indian spices. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and velvety, with seamless freshness, finishing long and layered.-LPB

It has plenty of raspberry and blueberry fruits, some spice, tobacco, and chocolate notes, medium body, good acidity, and solid balance. It's an elegant red to drink over the coming 7-10 years.
