I very much like the sense of vibrancy projected by the solidly intense and well-detailed medium weight flavors that terminate in a notably firmer finish that exhibits a touch of youthful austerity. This is also very good for its level and recommended.

The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes is showing beautifully, unwinding in the glass with aromas of sweet berry fruit, dark chocolate, rich soil tones and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's unusually concentrated in this frost-impacted vintage—to the extent that when Bertrand Chevillon presented it blind, I mistook it for one of his premiers crus. Its fine showing underscores what a good vintage this is chez Chevillon. - WK

Chevillon’s Nuits villages is very attractive, with an expressive bouquet of wild berries, blackcurrant and rich soil. On the palate the wine is medium-full, supple and concentrated, its fine but firm chassis of tannin nicely cloaked in a core of ripe, juicy fruit.
