Wine Spectator, January 2022

Fluid cherry, currant and raspberry flavors are matched to dense, dusty tannins in this taut red, which shows wild herb, tobacco and mineral elements that peek through as everything plays out on the lingering, tactile...

Decanter, November 2021

Produced from the estate’s oldest vineyards – predominantly southeast-facing plots at 400 metres – Talenti’s 2016 Riserva is all very charmingly animated on the nose. Vanilla and cinnamon accents play well with sweet herb...

The Talenti Winery is situated in the south of Montalcino, not far from the small medieval borough of S. Angelo in Colle. The winery was established in 1980 by Pierluigi Talenti who had fallen in love with the fascinating property and grounds, and decided to leave the mountains of his native Romagna for the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino.

The winery now owns a total of 40 hectares, about 21 of which are vineyards. Sixteen of the hectares are Sangiovese. The remaining five hectares hold a mix of varieties such as Colorino, Canaiolo, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet. The vines grow in a rocky soil of medium density at an altitude of about 650 to 400 feet.

Since 1999, the winery has been managed by Pierluigi’s grandson Riccardo Talenti who continues his family’s work with the same dedication and passion of the past years. Experience and thorough research of new technologies combined with a healthy respect for tradition allowed the winery to reach the high levels of quality it enjoys today.
