Very clean pure and stylish, white fruit with some yellower notes behind, beautiful texture. The quality of the texture might be connected to the use of a vertical press, having crushed the grapes first, whereas the Ile de Vergelesses had the usual pneumatic press treatment, without crushing. Tasted: December 2018.

The nicely detailed bouquet offers white peach, peppermint, citrus fruit and green apples all vying for attention. The palate is well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, and very elegant and harmonious. Hints of apricot and peach appear toward the sustained finish. Everything is kept in check by the acidity, completing a superb Corton Blanc. -- Neal Martin

The wine is beautifully expressive on the nose, offering up a refined mix of apple, pear, orange blossoms, chalky soil tones, crème patissière and a nice touch of salinity in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and quite deep at the core, with sound acids, lovely focus and grip and a long, complex and bouncy finish. This is not quite as open for business as the Îles de Vergelesses Blanc, but it is not going to demand too much patience before it too is drinking with great breed and generosity.

As usual, the vast majority of this cuvée derives from Corton Bressandes. - WK
