Crème de cassis, violets, pepper, wet stone, and graphite aromas and flavors all emerge from this full-bodied, silky, utterly seamless red that has ultra-fine tannin, no hard edges and awesome purity of fruit. From yields of 1.47 tons per acre and aged 12 months all in once-used Bordeaux barrels, it’s a classic wine from this estate that will keep for 10-15 years.

The rich, velvety 2017 L'Edre offers up hints of crushed stone and pencil shavings and layers of ripe, dark fruit. A blend of 60% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 5% Mourvèdre, all matured 18 months in second use Bordeaux barrels, it's full-bodied and plush, verging on creamy in texture, yet it has tremendous fruit presence and a long, elegant finish. - JC
