(91-94 points) Mild reduction pushes the fruit to the background but I doubt that it will last. Otherwise there is excellent volume, weight and intensity to the muscular and powerful big-bodied but seductively textured flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere and gorgeously long if quite firmly structured finale. This is a very dense wine in the context of the vintage and one that is going to require at least some forbearance.

(92 - 94 points) The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots displays notes of sweet wild berries, spices, rose petal, orange rind and potpourri, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny palate that's plush, layered and fragrant, with a deep core of fruit and a long, stony finish. This is a high-class Boudots that is performing very well from barrel.- WK

You can't get any closer to Vosne-Romanée on the north side of Nuits-St-Georges than Aux Boudots. This old vine parcel has lots of small berries (millerands) and always produces an intensely fruity, textured wine. This is true to type, with gluggable raspberry and strawberry fruit, some rose petal top-notes and supporting acidity.
