From three parcels situated in the warm terroirs near the village campsite, the 2017 Meursault Village unfurls in the glass with aromas of peaches, beeswax, pastry cream and warm spices. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied with a broad, satiny attack, nice depth and intensity and an expressive, giving profile. Coche uses this cuvée to try out different coopers for his parc a fûts. While it can't match his superior lieux-dits Meursault bottles, it will be more approachable in the near term. - WK
