(92-94 points) A reserved and grudging blend features notes of Jasmin tea, red and dark raspberry, lavender and an exotic spice nuance. The silky and refined big-bodied flavors possess excellent volume if not quite the same power as I'm used to seeing but the length is first-rate on the beautifully harmonious finish that is shaped by a firm core of tightly wound tannins. Patience will definitely be necessary.

Nadine Gublin has reduced the amount of new oak on her grand cru reds in recent years, to good effect. This sees 50% new wood, which allows the fruit to express itself more clearly. Sappy, dense and concentrated, it's quite a serious Musigny with sinewy tannins, a good backbone, and a concentrated core of dark berry fruit. (Drink between 2025-2032)
