The palate is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, very harmonious with impressive depth. There is vigour and animation about this Premier Cru with a killer, razor-sharp finish that lingers in the mouth. Magnificent. (DIAM closure) -- Neal Martin

It has the typically pale colour of the 2017s here, a slightly more lifted nose, some baked apple. Quite generous in the mouth then good acidity behind. It does a similar job to Les Combes only more so, and with a more mineral finish. Tasted: October 2018.

The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Charmois reveals pretty aromas of pear, fresh peach, white flowers, blanched almonds and wet stones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, racy and precise, with more tension and cut than the 2018 rendition. This is a very pretty, elegantly understated wine. - WK

The relatively concentrated and delicious medium weight flavors possess fine volume and mid-palate sap before terminating in a nicely persistent if somewhat one-dimensional and mildly warm finish. This too will undoubtedly add depth but I doubt that it will ultimately catch the En Montceau plus the balance isn't quite as well dialed in.
