(WA 91-93 points) The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Les Minots hails from one of the sunnier, warmer lieux-dits within the larger climat of Les Vaillons, and it typically produces a more generous, gourmand wine; it's also often where Piuze begins his harvest. This year's rendition is beautifully controlled, revealing aromas of green apple, crisp stone fruits and sweet white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and glossy, with a rounded but succulent core of fruit, concluding with a delineated finish. - William Kelley

The 2017 Chablis Vaillons Les Minots 1er Cru presents a fragrant nose of chalk, white flowers and a touch of orange blossom, quite delicate and understated compared to its peers (maybe picked a little too ripe?). The palate is balanced with a honeyed opening and lower acidity, showing conspicuous tropical notes of nectarine and guava that veer away from Chablis, although it does retain balance and clarity.
