The 2017 Barbaresco Pio is dark, fleshy and intensely spiced, all of which make it quite appealing. I would give the tannins time to soften, but there is enough fleshiness to allow the 2017 to drink well for a number of years. Bright red-toned fruit, cinnamon, blood orange, rose petal and mint are all laced into the super-classic Nebbiolo finish.
