Les St. Georges is often the most purely black fruity wine in the Chevillon lineup, but in 2017, it has caught the red fruity fever that has swept through the other wines here and is gorgeously loaded with aromatics from the red side of the spectrum. The stunning bouquet soars from the glass in a sophisticated blend of red plums, red and black cherries, raw cocoa, pigeon, a touch of nutskin, very, very complex minerality, peonies and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and youthfully reserved, with plenty of sap down at the core, great soil signature, fine-grained tannins, laser-like focus and a very, very long, complex and utterly seamless finish. Brilliant juice.
