(92-95 points) Note: Bouchard has been separately vinifying this .21 ha parcel, which at one time was part of Montrachet, since 1992 though the first commercial release was not until 1997; Bouchard jokingly refers to this parcel as their "Montrachet du haute pente", or upper slope Montrachet. There is a mildly leesy note to the more floral and even spicier aromas though given that this is not yet in bottle, I suspect that the leesy note will dissipate once this is prepared for the bottling. As is virtually always the case, there is more size, weight and richness to the bigger-bodied flavors that possess plenty of power if not the same refinement, all wrapped in a more complex finale where the only nit is a touch of warmth. In 2018, this is more Montrachet than Chevalier in character.
