Lime blossom, hazelnut, peach, citronella and toasty oak combine in this alluring white. It's seamless in balance and builds gracefully on the palate to a lingering finish. The aftertaste evokes floral, baking spice, pastry and ripe fruit accents. Drink now through 2028. — B.S.

(90-93 points) Reduction and sulfur presently push what appear to be ripe fruit and floral aromas to the background. On the plus side there is a notably finer but less powerful mouthfeel to the intensely mineral-driven flavors that brim with dry extract on the citrus-tinged, balanced and sneaky long finish. I wouldn't describe this as classic, but I like the refinement plus it should age gracefully over the medium-term.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet La Truffière 1er Cru has a detailed bouquet with granite, hazelnut and light sea spray aromas. The palate is saline on the entry, which gets the saliva flowing. Quite linear and precise, it has a detailed, lemongrass-tinged finish that gently fans out and lingers long on the aftertaste. Excellent. -- Neal Martin
