The domaine’s Cuvée Reine Joly is one of my favorite villages level bottlings in the commune and the 2018 version is really very successful this year. The bouquet delivers a fine constellation of red and black cherries, a touch of fruitcake, gamebird, coffee, dark soil tones and a classic topnote of young Savigny spice tones. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely structured, with impressive mid-palate depth, a bit of buried tannin on the backend and very good focus and grip on the nascently complex finish. Another first class AC.
