The 2018 les Lavières from Guillaume Camus is a gorgeous wine in the making. The bouquet is pure, elegant and potentially sappy, offering up a nascently complex blend of red and black cherries, plums, dark chocolate, violets, gamebird, a superb base of soil tones and a deft framing of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and really deep in the mid-palate, with a suave sense of balance, fine-grained tannins and a long, tangy and very, very refined finish. This is a great Savigny in the making!
