The Faiveley team began to pick on August 27th; here, the assemblage of the young vines from the top of the Clos des Cortons with the older fruit has given a rich, dense wine with notes of ripe apple, butter, and hazlenut along with a bit of spice from the wood. The texture on the palate is dense but not heavy, and the final balance leads to a pleasantly lingering finish.

There is a bit more volume to the rich, powerful and nicely delineated flavors that are less refined but more mineral-driven and particularly so on the impressively long finish where the only reproach is a touch of warmth.
