The 2018 Vaillons here is every bit as refined and zesty as the Montmains. The wine delivers a classy aromatic constellation of apple. pear, citrus zest, a complex base of chalky minerality and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and racy, with impressive complexity and cut, a lovely core and excellent grip and bounce on the long, poised and snappy finish. This is a bit more buttoned up today than the Montmains, so I would opt for tucking the Vaillons away in the cellar for a few years before starting to drink it in earnest. Fine, fine juice.
