(92-96 points) Half the plot was pulled out after the 2016 harvest. More black than purple with a dense, almost chocolatey nose. Super concentrated, 25% whole bunch as per their Chapelle, but this is a chocolate coated bomb, which almost made me think of a Leroy wine.

(93-95 points) The 2018 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru is a vineyard where half the vineyard was pulled out in winter 2018. It does not deliver quite the same precision and detail as the Chapelle-Chambertin this year. Intense blackberry, raspberry and light cedar aromas unfold gently in the glass. The palate is well balanced with more red fruit compared to the Chapelle, a slightly creamy texture and a sensual, very harmonious, quite rich yet detailed finish. It might drink slightly earlier than the Chapelle-Chambertin, but it may well have equal longevity. -- Neal Martin
